What this part does

The roof-mounted antenna assembly serves as the primary receiver for the vehicle's external communications, capturing signals for AM/FM radio, satellite radio, GPS navigation, and cellular telematics. It is secured to the upper exterior roof panel and routes signals through specialized coaxial cables directly to the telematics control unit and the main infotainment head unit. If this component suffers water intrusion or electronic failure, the vehicle will typically experience a loss of navigation positioning, dropped satellite radio reception, or a malfunction in the SOS emergency call system.

Before you order

• Verify the color-coded Fakra connectors on the underside of your original antenna to ensure they match this replacement exactly, as different option packages require distinct cable configurations.
• This exterior component features a painted housing; if the color does not match your vehicle, the cover must be carefully prepped and repainted without damaging the internal transceivers.
• Always inspect the condition of the mounting surface and apply proper sealing techniques during installation to prevent water from leaking into the headliner and damaging interior electronics.
