What this part does

The A/C Line is a specialized high-pressure assembly made of aluminum tubing and reinforced rubber that transports refrigerant through the vehicle's climate control system. It forms the sealed circuit connecting major air conditioning components, routing fluid or gas between the compressor, condenser, expansion valve, and evaporator core. Because these lines are exposed to extreme under-hood temperatures and continuous pressure cycling, the rubber sections can eventually degrade or the crimped fittings can fail. When a line cracks or leaks, the system loses refrigerant charge and pressure, causing the air conditioning to blow warm air and potentially triggering a system shut-off to protect the compressor from internal damage.
