What this part does

The right side mirror mounts to the passenger front door, allowing the driver to monitor the adjacent lane and rear blind spots. A complete assembly generally houses the adjustment motors, mirror glass, internal wiring harness, and the integrated LED turn signal repeater. Depending on the exact factory option list, it may also contain heating elements, power-folding mechanisms, auto-dimming glass, and lane change assist sensors. Impact damage, mechanical wear to the folding gears, or water intrusion into the housing can cause the motors to fail or short the internal electronics, requiring a complete replacement of the unit.

Installing a mirror with the wrong electrical connector will trigger dashboard warnings and disable mirror functions. The painted upper cover (skull cap) can often be unclipped and swapped from your original mirror if the paint color does not match your vehicle.
