What this part does
The curtain airbag deploys downward from the upper roofline during a side-impact collision or rollover to protect the head and neck of outboard occupants. It is mounted along the inner roof rail on the passenger side, concealed entirely beneath the interior headliner. When an impact is detected, the airbag control module ignites the gas generator to inflate the cushion in milliseconds.
