What this part does

The Inner Sill Trim is a protective and cosmetic panel mounted along the lower interior threshold of the door frame. It bridges the gap between the interior floor carpet and the exterior door weatherstripping, securing the carpet edge in place. It also serves a primary protective role, shielding the vehicle's painted lower bodywork from scuffs, scratches, and impact damage as passengers enter and exit the cabin. When this panel is cracked, heavily scratched, or missing, the interior carpet can peel back and the exposed metal sill becomes highly vulnerable to rust-inducing paint damage.
