What this part does
The steering wheel airbag is a critical safety device housed in the center hub of the steering wheel. It is designed to deploy in fractions of a second during a moderate to severe frontal collision, cushioning the driver and preventing direct impact with the steering column or windshield. The deployment is triggered by the main SRS module based on real-time data from front crash sensors. Once an airbag has deployed, or if its internal squib circuit fails, the entire unit must be replaced.

Before you order
Verify your steering wheel style before purchasing. The vehicle it came from was equipped with the M Sport package, meaning this airbag is shaped specifically for the M Sport steering wheel and will not fit standard base steering wheels. Always disconnect the vehicle's battery and wait a minimum of 15 minutes before attempting removal or installation to allow the backup capacitors to discharge. After installation, a scan tool will be required to clear any existing SRS fault codes or crash data stored in the vehicle's computer.
