What this part does
The Adaptive Cruise Control Module is a forward-facing radar unit usually mounted behind the lower front grille or bumper cover. It continuously scans the road ahead to measure the distance and relative speed of leading vehicles, feeding this data to the vehicle's driver assistance network. This module allows the car to automatically adjust its cruising speed to maintain a safe following distance and is a critical component for the automatic emergency braking system. When this sensor fails or gets knocked out of alignment, the active cruise control and pre-collision systems will disable completely, accompanied by a dashboard warning message.

Before you order
This module requires professional initialization and calibration using BMW ISTA diagnostic software after installation. It will not function simply by plugging it in. Check the mounting bracket on your vehicle before installation; even a slightly bent bracket from a minor front-end impact will prevent the radar from calibrating successfully.
