What this part does
The Interior Light is mounted to the headliner and provides primary illumination for the cabin of the vehicle. It houses the main reading lamps and often integrates ambient lighting, microphone slots, or overhead switch clusters depending on the factory equipment level. When this assembly fails, the interior bulbs may flicker, fail to turn on when doors are opened, or the integrated switches may become completely unresponsive.

Before you order
Verify your original 6805398 part number matches exactly before purchasing. BMW overhead lighting clusters vary heavily based on vehicle options such as sunroof controls, SOS emergency buttons, gesture control cameras, and interior alarm motion sensors. Check the pin configuration on the rear connector to ensure compatibility with your existing wiring harness, as installing an incorrect unit can cause lighting or communication faults.
