What this part does

The interior light assembly provides essential illumination for the vehicle's cabin, housing both the main overhead lighting and the individual directional reading lamps. Positioned centrally in the headliner or overhead console, it integrates with the door latches and central locking system to automatically illuminate the cabin during entry and exit. If the internal circuitry shorts or the physical switches degrade, the lights may remain permanently on, leading to parasitic battery drain, or they may fail to activate entirely when the doors are opened.
