What this part does
The C-pillar trim mounts to the rear interior structural pillar located between the rear window and the rear passenger side glass. It serves as a cosmetic cover that bridges the gap between the headliner, the rear parcel shelf, and the side window frames. Behind this panel, you will typically find the routing for the rear curtain airbags, antenna wiring, and interior lighting harnesses. Over time, UV exposure and normal cabin heat cause the plastic backing and mounting tabs to become brittle. When the retaining posts fail, the panel will sag, vibrate over rough roads, or leave an exposed gap against the vehicle body.

Before you order
Match the interior color of the vehicle it came from to your existing interior to ensure a proper visual match, as the BMW 6 Series was available with multiple headliner and trim shades including Anthracite, Dakota Black, and Ivory White. Compare the physical shape of this panel to your original piece, paying close attention to whether your car is a two-door coupe or a four-door Gran Coupe. The rear pillar dimensions differ completely between these body styles, and the trims are not interchangeable. Installation requires specific care to avoid pinching or obstructing the side curtain airbag material folded behind the trim. We highly recommend sourcing a fresh set of OEM retaining clips prior to installation, as removing and reusing the original plastic or metal clips frequently results in a loose fit or persistent interior rattles.
